There are easy steps you can follow to replace your Volvo key fob battery at your own expense. Find a clean area to work on. Set out all the tools that you'll need. Locate the battery's hatch and ensure that it is set to "open." Use a flathead screwdriver, coin or other similar tool to open the hatch wide. Once the battery has been removed, place the new one in its socket. Make sure that the positive side of the battery is facing up and that all clips are in place. Install a new battery in its spot and join the fob.

Note: Some older Volvo models use different types of batteries that is the CR2025. CR2025 batteries are 7 tenths of a millimeter less than a CR2032 battery, and you'll need to be cautious about the placement of the replacement.
